“Horton Hears a Who” DVD Marketing Campaign

According to the New York Times, it looks like 20th Century Fox will play basically all-in for the upcoming DVD release of “Horton Hears a Who” animated feature. Aside from traditional DVD marketing plan, 20th Century Fox also cooperated with Macy’s to have a giant balloon of Horton the elephant in Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade. L’Oréal will also carry Horton Hears a Who-inspired shampoo presumably at the time of the DVD release.

I usually think of some premium packaging for DVD release, e.g. Transformers’ Optimus Prime transforming case. But having a movie-inspired shampoo around the DVD release is a different thing. Well, looks like DVD industry need some jolt to run the business.
