The X-Files: I Want to Believe

26 07 2008

I was a bit surprise that they actually made another feature length film of The X-Files. The show became off the air several years ago. I was a huge fan of the X-Files back then. And, honestly, my interest in the show became less when Agent Mulder left the show. And even became less interest when Agent Scully left the show. The show itself had a potential to make a feature presentation out of it. The 1998 feature film was okay for me. I quite enjoyed that, really. I’m not that excited about the new X-Files movie. Maybe because it’s been 5-6 years after the show became off the air. But it’s nice to see Mulder and Scully join forces again.

This article is the film’s review from New York Times and looks like the new film might not be that well-received. Probably we don’t have the kind of The X-Files show nowadays. I might check it out soon. Just want to see how the creator, Chris Carter, going to take the story as this time he’s the director.

The Dark Knight – Film Review by BBC

26 07 2008

This is the actual The Dark Knight movie review by BBC. What surprises me is the review focus more on Christian Bale’s performance. Don’t get me wrong. I like his performance as well as the late Heath Ledger. It’s just that most of the reviews that we have seen so far focus more on Ledger and his portrayal of The Joker. Bale is a superb actor – from raging psycho in American Psycho to a man suffer from insomnia in The Machinist. You’ve got to hand it to him. Every role he plays, he devote himself to make the performance as good as he can.
