Lego Ad

22 07 2008

I just love Lego ad. The ad itself signifies what Lego stands for – let your imagination run wild. And, of course, create the impossible. In this case, a manor with an army of penquin. I’m not surprise why Lego is a long well-known brand when it comes to children toys. I even play this with my nephew from time to time. Trust me, you can create the impossible with Lego.

Swiss Army Shoes

22 07 2008

I would love to get my hand on this shoe. Swiss Army is a pretty well-known brand for, of course, its knife and watches. With the Swiss Army logo on it, you can be sure that their products are good. Don’t know if this shoe is available now but it looks awesome.

Rains

22 07 2008

I like when it rains. I also like picture like this. It gives you this refreshing sensation. Don’t you ever walk when it rains? Just walk in the rain and you’ll know what I’m talking about. It can be gloomy sometimes but try walking in the rain once in a while. It’ll recharge you – give you energy. Perhaps you can walk in the rain, holding the umbrella and pretend you’re Gene Kelly for a moment and start singing in the rain. That would be totally amazing. Trust me :]

Five Interesting Products

22 07 2008

I just came with these interesting five products. I don’t know if they are real or not but they’re just so cute. They’re the kind of products that make you think ‘Gee, how didn’t I come up with that?’. Like this one, for example: Finger Food. What is it? Well, it’s literally finger food. You just put the product on your finger and place the food on the product. There you have it – Finger Food. Very subtle, hehe. Check it out.

Matthew Woodson

22 07 2008

I found Matthew Woodson’s works on Artcatchr. Quite interesting artworks he has created. He’s an artist from Chicago. Some of his works can provoke emotion senses. Like the bottom picture for example. I thought of “In the Mood for Love” by Wong Kar Wai when I first saw it. They’re all interesting. Take a look.

The Dark Knight – A Hero That We Deserve

22 07 2008

I came across with this article from Artcatchr. Please be warned that this article may contain Spoilers for The Dark Knight.

This article, by Spencer Ackerman (via Washington on Independent.com), compares The Dark Knight opus with our real-world political situation. I’d say it’s an interesting article that can provoke some thoughts. If you know Batman’s story arc, you might find this article interesting as well.

Is The Dark Knight Too Dark?

22 07 2008

I just found this semi-question on USA Today.com. The main content is whether or not The Dark Knight is actually too dark for kids to watch. Well, after I watched the movie this past weekend, I was surprised that the movie received PG-13. I thought it would have been given R (Restricted). Some of the elements in the movie may not be suitable for children at or above 13 years old, even with parents’ companion.

In my personal test, I’d say this is not suitable for children who are under 15-16 years old. The movie doesn’t have blood or gore but it can be menacing sometimes. Children might have impression of Batman as what they see on their Saturday morning cartoon. That is still pretty much colorful for them. But if you compare that with The Dark Knight, that’s a totally different story.

The Dark Knight is made for adults, no doubt. The story, the contents, the atmosphere – they’re all adult-oriented. I once read a magazine article couple of months ago about Christopher Nolan and his view for the upcoming (back then) Batman movie. He said that he was inspired by Michael Mann’s Heat. I like Heat a lot and I can see some of that element in The Dark Knight.

In the end, the movie is dark as it supposes to be and this, at least for me, is how Batman story/saga supposes to be. Nolan is on the right track in creating Batman’s arc and the artistic direction that he’s using for movie. I just hope that he wouldn’t change any of the theme or visual direction for the next Batman installment.

Jeep Advertisement

I know that there are a lot of competitions in the automobile industry nowadays, especially in the age of rising gas price. What I really like here is how Jeep distinguishes itself from other brands. Jeep is already well known for its four-wheel driving and readiness for all kind of terrain driving. You can try parking your Jeep at this parking spot. I’m sure it wouldn’t be that hard. But I doubt if I could park a Jeep with the right frontal tire at that exact spot without ruining the axle :]

Paper Shampoo

22 07 2008

I found this on Artcatchr about a paper shampoo. You got that right – a paper shampoo. I thought this was just a gimmick but from what I read this could be really cool. Each piece of this paper shampoo contains hair cleaner that will be dissolved when it comes to contact with water. Sounds like something out of science fiction, eh? I’m not sure who’s the manufacture for this product but I’d love to try some, hehe.
